Product description
Casey at Bat brings the epic poem by Ernest Thayer to life through a brilliantly crafted setting for flute, piano, and narrator. It’s loads of fun and very well written — you’ll love it! The work had its NFA premiere in August 2014 and was very well received.
Composed by Diane Whitacre, who also composed The Shoemaker’s Dream for flute, piano, and narrator, this piece brings the same artistry and storytelling to a wonderfully lighthearted subject.
There is opportunity for audience participation, and the flutist also uses a slide whistle and slapstick — making it a crowd favorite for recitals and concerts alike.
