This is our favorite step-up flute. It not only has a solid silver head joint, (like the DZ 501 and 601), but the body of the flute is also solid silver. It differs from the DZ-701 because it has professional style pointed arms, and the option of adding the popular C# trill key and the D# roller key. The C# trill key allows for easier trilling options, while the D# roller makes the movement between low notes that involve the right-hand little finger easier and smoother.
Since the head joint is key to the tone quality of the flute, each head joint is hand-cut with undercuts and overcuts making it easy to produce a full and beautiful sound. All pads are partially shimmed-a process usually reserved for professional flutes. Every flute is made to achieve smooth key action, fast response, and excellent resonance. Master flute maker, Di Zhao tests and adjusts each instrument in the same manner that the top professional flutes in the U.S. are tested. All flutes are tuned to A-442 pitch.
