This is our favorite step-up flute.  After trying many different brands in this price range at the National Flute Convention, we found that this flute stood out...hands down above the rest.   To find anything comparable, we had to try flutes that were over $3,000 more expensive than the DZ 700.  (Yes more than double the price!) The testing was done blind (we didn't know what brand was being tried.)      Please call so we can set up a time to Facetime or Skype and hear each of these flutes played live.  Of course there is always a week test period when the flute can be returned if you are not absolutely in love with it!  If needed we can also discuss financing options.

Di Zhao700 Solid Silver Body, Solid Silver Head Joint, Nickel-Silver Mechanism with Pointed Arms, Open Hole, and B-foot and NEW beautiful rosewood case.

The DZ-700 is an amazing  advanced flute, having a responsive and singing tone in all registers.  It not only has a solid silver head joint, (like the DZ400 and 500), but the body of the flute is also solid silver. It differs from the DZ-600 since it also has professional style pointed arms. Since the head joint is key to the tone quality of the flute, each head joint is hand-cut with undercuts and overcuts making it easy to produce a full and beautiful sound.  All pads are partially shimmed-a process usually reserved for professional flutes. Every flute is made to achieve smooth key action, fast response, and excellent resonance.  Master flute maker, Di Zhao tests and adjusts each instrument in the same manner that the top professional flutes in the U.S. are tested.  All flutes are tuned to A-442 pitch.

After the 2009 National Flute Convention in NYC, it was obvious that the new Di Zhao's flutes were a huge hit. I only heard extremely positive comments posted on the various flute lists

Beautiful sounding flute
As I was gradually getting better at flute and I learned about different sounds, I started looking for a better sounding flute at a lower price, but with no luck. I found this flute, and It is even more beautiful than I could imagine, and the tone was full and rich. The low register came with little or no effort and sounded wonderful, and the higher register as well. This flute definitely exceeds my expectations!
